We are currently looking for a part-time (50% FTE) Research Assistant to join xSEL Labs in the Chicago area. In this role, you will join our growing team to assist with planning and executing funded research studies focused on designing and field testing a prototype social and emotional assessment platform.

 

What you’ll do…

  • Primary responsibility is to provide research and administrative assistance to the xSEL Labs research team and to help manage the daily operations of a research contract
  • Execute tasks in the research project plan, including organizing communications and feedback with advisors, following up to ensure high survey completion rates, organizing and setting up focus groups, and working closely with the pilot site to support data collection for the initial pilot
  • Help to recruit research participants and help with study design and implementation
  • Assist with quantitative and qualitative data analyses
  • Collaborate with the tech team to oversee software updates based on research study results

 

What you’ll bring…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Education, or related field
  • Familiarity with research methods in social sciences and/or education
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Problem-solving and analytical capability
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with R is preferred but not required
