Measuring Social-Emotional Development at Glencoe District 35

Glencoe District 35 wanted to better understand the social networks in its classrooms and gauge students’ social and emotional learning (SEL) strengths and needs. The district team implemented xSEL Lab’s Networker and SELweb EE assessments and established protocols for reviewing data and developing data-informed plans to build on student strengths and address student needs.

By using Networker and SELweb EE, teachers have a more complete picture of students’ peer relationships and social-emotional skills and they can teach skills in a more targeted way. As a result, students are demonstrating stronger skills for problem solving and calming down.
